From my gardens - yellow

One of my lily's has started to bloom. My daughter had gotten it for me for Mother's Day. The tag identified it as a Salmon Lily, a hybrid, that requires bright light. I had planted it in a shade garden that gets a.m. sunlight and it seems to be doing well.

I know these flowers as buttercups. In other regions they are know as evening primrose or sundrops. These buttercups are planted in a garden that gets full direct sun and heat. They are hardy to the point of being invasive.

Hi Cathy, Thanks for leaving the comment on my blog. I think my sundrops differ from yours in having mottled or variegated leaves. Maybe that's why mine aren't quite invasive.

Anyway, it's always nice to find another Hoosier garden blogger!

I love the combo of the Sundrops with the purple Smokebush. Very striking. I think your Lily must have been mismarked, as it certainly isn't Salmon. (I like this clear yellow better than Salmon.)

I love Lilies and yours are beautiful Cathy. Mine have mostly been eaten by some awful red bugs : (

What a nice blog you have! Thank you for adding mine on to your list, I'll do the same for you.
